Is the shnoz not distinctive enough on your Audi A5? Well then you’re in luck, because tuner ABT is bringing its AS5-R to the Geneva Motor Show, and giving it 510 hp for good measure. The AS5-R from German tuners ABT Sportsline will be on display at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show. The designers from Allgau have developed a beautiful package with which to wrap the new Audi A5. The kit consists of a lower, wider more aggressive front bumper with larger air intakes. Around the car you will also find new ABT grill, side skirts, a rear diffuser and understated rear wing. The most striking feature on the AS5-R is the application of vents on the fenders behind the front wheels. This is almost always carried out in a tacky nonfunctional manner, but the way that the black contrasts the white paint and ties back in to the black stripe running the length of the car actually looks good. The AS5-R rolls on some very special two-tone ABT wheels. However the AS5-R is not all show and no go. The Audi V8 has been bumped up to 510 HP up from the standard 344 HP that comes from the factory. That particular engine will not last for very long because the mad scientists over at ABT are planning to swap out the eight cylinder for Audi’s 333 HP supercharged six cylinder from the new S5 cabriolet, although those number are bound to change as well.
